Why Make a resolution?

If you fail to plan you plan to fail.

As the Bible says, “Without a vision, people perish.”

According to one study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology found that those who set New Year’s resolutions are 10 times more likely to actually change their behaviour than people who don’t make these yearly goals.

The beginning of a new year seems like an opportunity for a fresh start a new chapter, writing a new page of your life.

1. Choose WISE Goals

Instead of selecting such a vague goal, focus on something more achievable and realistic that you can set your sights on.

Your goals must be WISE goals:

Winnable – Choose goals you can reach
Inspirational – Select goals that inspire you daily
Specific – Make your goals target an improvement in your total well being
Effect Change – Ensure the goal will bring you to a new place of breakthrough.

2. Change is baby steps

It’s not a 100-meter dash but life is a marathon.

Plan to walk before you can run. Be accountable for achieving your goal.

“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.”

3. Winners Dream and dreamers win!

Tell me your dream and I’ll tell you about your future.

Feed your dreams and starve your failures.

Energize your dreams by being deliberate about actions, thoughts and words.

Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.

4. History is your best teacher

“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it” – Winston Churchill

When you hit a roadblock, take a moment to think about what did and didn’t work.

If so, scale back to a less ambitious challenge, or break the big one into smaller steps.

5. Invest in all that counts

And the only thing people regret is that they didn’t live boldly enough, that they didn’t invest enough heart, didn’t love enough.

Life is fulfilling by sowing and reaping. Your sowing will determine your harvest.

Life is all the more complete with friends and family.

6. Mind and Emotions

You are who you think you are!

Man can change his life by changing his thinking

When you master your mind and your emotions, you master your life.

A tired mind will lead to an unstable emotion.

Take time to meditate, rest and rejuvenate.

7. All work and no play

“Even though you’re growing up, you should never stop having fun.”

The life you have left is a gift. Cherish it. Enjoy it now, to the fullest.

Do what counts.

Sometimes having fun with your best friend and family is all the therapy you need.

Let 2020 be the beginning of a new season in your wonderful life.
